Three reasons why it’s critical to compare and update healthcare plans for 2022

  • New Plans: This year, new, low-cost plans that match your needs and budget may become available. You may be able to find health plans for 2022 that better suit your needs and budget, especially if you’ve had or expect income or household changes.
  • Accurate Savings: Your healthcare savings for 2022 are based on your predicted income for 2022, not last year’s. If you don’t keep your information up to current, your premium tax credit and other savings for 2022 may be incorrect. Ultimately, you may have to pay a higher monthly premium or owe money when you file your taxes.
  • The Greatest Plan for You: While you may be automatically enrolled for 2022, this may not be the best approach to get a health insurance plan that meets your needs and saves you money. If you do not renew or enroll in a plan before December 15, 2021, you may automatically enroll in the same or a comparable plan. Even if you prefer that plan, you should update your information to view all of the options for 2022. You can start as early as November 1.
