Millions of American nationals will soon be able to access high-quality insurance at a price they can afford. And ensuring that people are aware of the new options open to them and ensuring a smooth transition to this new coverage day is our top goal.

Creating a seamless transition

To assist you, we’ve taken the following steps:

  1. You have more time to enroll and pay for your insurance.
  2. On, we’ve improved the window shopping experience.
  3. Enrollees in the PCIP can keep their coverage until January 2022.

We’re also working with insurance carriers to make sure that customers who have had their policies canceled receive coverage starting January 1. If your individual insurance policy has been canceled, we’re offering you additional resources.

Consumers who have had their plans canceled have access to many resources

If you or some of your loved one has received a cancellation letter, here’s what you should know:

  • Consumers with canceled insurance can call 1-866-837-0677, a new hotline dedicated to them. A person will assist you with locating 2014 coverage. They can walk you through the alternatives for replacing or renewing a canceled plan on Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m-7:00 p.m. EST, and Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. EST.
  • If the Marketplace plans are out of your price range, you may be eligible for a “hardship” exception, which allows you to purchase catastrophic coverage.
  • To purchase this coverage, fill out a hardship exemption form stating that your current policy has been canceled and that you believe the Marketplace options in your location are costly.
  • You must then submit this paperwork, together with a copy of your cancellation notice, to a catastrophic insurance carrier in your area and apply directly with them. If you have any questions concerning this option, you can call the hotline.

We are working 24/7 to ensure that everyone who requires coverage on January 1 is able to get it. Also, bear in mind that the deadline to sign up for 2022 coverage is March 31.

A call, a click, or a discussion can get you covered. Americans without employer-based insurance are encouraged to visit to learn about their new alternatives in the Health Insurance Marketplace.

Remember to pay your insurance payment by December 31, or by any later date established by your insurer, to have coverage beginning January 1, 2022.
