Millions transitioning to coverage

Over 6 million people have enrolled in coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace or Medicaid since October 1.

If you’ve completed an application and selected a plan on the Marketplace, you may still need to follow a few procedures to guarantee that your coverage is activated. Above all, make sure you pay your first month’s premium on time. Follow your insurer’s instructions for how and when to pay your premiums, as well as the due date. You should also check with the plan you chose to ensure that enrollment has taken place.

Also, don’t forget that there’s still time to sign up for good health insurance. Sign up now for coverage that will start on January 1.

You can reach out to us if you have any questions about coverage. Our professional representatives are accessible at the Marketplace Call Center 24/7 if you need assistance. On HealthCare.gov, we’ve also prepared various consumer guides to assist you in understanding your new plan.

Thanks to the Marketplace, millions of Americans now have health insurance and access to care, many for the first time. We’ve been working hard to make the transition to coverage as painless as possible, especially for new individuals.

We’ve worked with our partners, including the states, to handle coverage transition issues effectively, and we’d like to thank the plans, pharmacies, provider organizations, and others who have shown such flexibility during the transition period and mobilized their networks to help and engage with consumers who may have questions.

As we move forward, we’ll keep working to ensure that every American who wants to enroll in Marketplace coverage by January 15, 2022, can do so — and enjoy the security and peace of mind that comes with having quality health coverage.
